The AuDNet Board of Directors is comprised of leading figures in the field of audiology who have committed themselves to the future of autonomous audiology practice and the independent audiologist. Each member has made and continues to make significant contributions to the field of audiology. Though our board members come from diverse backgrounds and have wide-ranging experience, each shares a heartfelt belief that every audiology patient deserves expert, personal care, and that the independent audiologist can deliver that level of care better than anyone. In total, the AuDNet Board of Directors represents over 150 years of experience as professional audiologists and Doctors of Audiology.
Dr. Kathy Foltner has long been a leading figure in the field of audiology and a crusader for the independent audiologist. Early in her career, Dr. Foltner established an independent practice in Michigan and developed it into one of the state's most successful practices. Dr. Foltner recognized early on that audiologists needed organized representation, so she served as a leader in the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA). Wanting a more pivotal position in guiding the future of audiology, Dr. Foltner sold her practice and became a top network industry executive. She oversaw and steered network operations before being tapped to negotiate and secure managed care contracts nationwide. Dr. Foltner now works as a private practice business management and marketing consultant, author, and serves as AuDNet's CEO. Dr. Foltner sees AuDNet as an essential component in uniting independent audiologists and branding audiology care nationwide
Mr. David Smriga is the founder and President of AuDNet, Inc. After realizing that the expansion of corporate hearing aid centers posed a serious threat to private-practice audiologists everywhere, Mr. Smriga founded AuDNet to unite autonomous audiology practices and ensure that patients receive quality care from highly trained audiologists. Mr. Smriga has 30 years of executive management experience in audiology's manufacturing sector, and he has served as vice president for some of the hearing-instrument industry's top companies. This experience has given him the broad perspective necessary to evaluate, promote, and guide the future of independent audiology. Mr. Smriga believes that exceptional patient care administered by independent audiologists who have a professional degree and extensive training must be the future for audiology and must be the guiding principle that drives AuDNet, Inc.
Dr. Gregory Frazer is a successful audiologist with an entrepreneurial spirit. Over his 30-year career in Southern California, he has established and maintained ownership in several distinguished private practices. A staunch believer in the essential role of the independent audiologist, Dr. Frazer spent several years helping to pioneer a national audiology network, but left when corporate executives changed its purpose. Dr. Frazer firmly believes that the corporate model is antithetical to the best interests of audiology and patient care. For this reason, he has dedicated himself to the future of the independent audiologist and the field of audiology by helping AuDNet build a national audiology network that promotes and works to ensure the success of independent audiologists across the country.
Dr. John Zeigler, founder of one of the most successful audiology practices and a past chairman of the Consumer Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology in Florida, joined AuDNet as a result of his unwavering dedication to independent audiology and his desire to protect consumer rights. Dr. Zeigler has long crusaded against the practice of blending professionally educated and licensed audiologists with less formally trained non-audiologists, since such practice can blur the qualifications of the licensed professionals for consumers. Dr. Zeigler is passionate about providing patients the exceptional care backed by high educational standards that only a licensed audiologist can provide. He believes that AuDNet's unique focus on branding and marketing audiology care through “America's Audiology Network” offers the best opportunity for delivering quality hearing care to every patient nation wide.
